Our Committees - get involved
Events & Program Committee
Leading the planning, organizing, budgeting and program development of all BOMA NS events, as well as the addressing core Event needs, so as to deliver appropriate news through various industry platforms, including our BOMA NS website, social media channels (LinkedIn), eNews and hard copy materials.
Marketing - Communications
The Marketing Committee provides the thought leadership and focus that communication projects require so as to deliver success. From planning the promotional messages and imagery for a major Technical Subject Matter event to assisting staff with the development of communication and content strategies for new membership promotion, website content and design, to driving the marketing and communication strategies for our mission critical BOMEX Halifax 2025.
Membership Committee
Its mission is to promote, grow and retain our valued members. To actively seek out new members through personal contact and by promoting the association at community events. To communicate the benefits of membership and share positive member experiences and reactions. To recommend new programs for current members and continually provide a welcoming and valuable experience. Working together in planning social and networking events for all members.
Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee actively identifies potential Board Member candidates and Executive Position succession planning. This committee has an excellent working knowledge of BOMA's membership and works with our Executive, our members, and our committees to support committee development and provide assistance where it is needed.
Awards Committee
The committee works with BOMA NS Members, and BOMA Canada, to develop, manage, and promote the annual BOMA NS Awards Social and which its Award portfolio winners are introduced and celebrated. Our current Awards list includes:

- Toby Awards
- Emerging Leader Award
- Member of the Year Award
- As well as individual National Awards (i.e. Elaina Tattersdale Sustainability Champion Award and more)
All of which will be presented annually at our Awards Social.
Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy committee’s role is to advance BOMA NS members’ interests by promoting positive policies at all levels of government and to provide fact-based positions on issues affecting the Commercial Real Estate environment. The committee is charged with developing a pro-active agenda that ensures sound public policy is in place to encourage and support our building owners, managers and developers.
Sustainability Committee
Promotes and facilitates BOMA BEST program, with support and leadership of BOMA Canada. Works together with other organizations to promote sustainability in the workplace, as well as industry best practices, Award Programs, and more.
Education Committee
The Education Committee provides leadership to BOMA NS on matters relating to professional learning for those in the Commercial Property industry. The committee is responsible for providing BOMI accredited courses, for professional development seminars and workshops for the association.
